AC is a Northamptonshire charity helping people move out of homelessness, debt, hunger, poverty and financial crisis. Founded in 1987, we have grown from a local housing advice service into a multidisciplinary organisation providing practical support when people need it most. Our work includes: • Free, independent housing, debt and benefits advice • Supported accommodation and move-on support for single adults experiencing homelessness in North Northamptonshire • Financial resilience and crisis prevention services • Employability, training and community-based support • Partnership projects with health services, councils, housing providers and voluntary organisations We do more than provide information. We work alongside people to understand what is happening, identify realistic options and provide the advocacy, skills and ongoing support they need to move forward. During 2025–2026, AC: • Supported 2,658 individuals across 4,696 cases • Achieved more than £7 million in financial gains for clients • Helped people secure £2.7 million in benefits and additional income • Supported clients to write off more than £2.1 million of unmanageable debt • Helped people manage more than £10 million of debt • Supported more than 1,000 people with food, essential items and charitable assistance Our advice services are free at the point of delivery. We support people facing homelessness, insecure housing, problem debt, benefit difficulties, financial hardship and other challenges that can make life feel overwhelming. We believe everyone deserves a safe place to live, financial security and the opportunity to build the best possible life. Human beings first. Big hearts, proper standards. Help that actually helps. We are AC. We are here to help.
