Region Skåne, or Skåne Regional Council, is the self-governing authority of Skåne, the southernmost county of Sweden. Region Skåne has its head office in the city of Kristianstad and has work places in every municipality in Skåne. Region Skåne is responsible for healthcare and medical services, the development of trade and industry, public transport, culture and cooperation with other regions in and outside Sweden. Sweden has many buildings and environments of great value to its national cultural history. Each one is part of the nation's history and its future. Our National Heritage National Property Board (SFV) aims to make all Swedes proud of their national treasures. Palaces and royal parks, theatres and museums, embassies and property comprising one seventh of the total land mass of Sweden. All are owned by the Swedes collectively. The duty of the Board is to administer them in the best possible way. Our task is not only to maintain the soul and character of each building but also to adapt them to present day needs and uses. Just as important as passing on the history behind existing buildings is the creation of new buildings worthy of the future. We are therefore commissioned by the Swedish government to carry out new building projects which are representative for our nation. We also administer state-owned forests and land. In a sustainable manner to preserve biodiversity and maintain reindeer pasture lands for the benefit of future generations. National Property Board in figures * SFV ownes 2,300 properties in Sweden with approximately 4000 buildings and a combined area of 1,6 million square metres. * SFV manages 6,4 million hectares (around 16 million acres) of land - one seventh of Sweden's surface area. * SFV administers state-owned property and land at 73 locations in 69 countries around the world. In 44 of these countries we manage a Swedish Embassy. * SFV is responsible for Sweden's 300 state-owned listed historical buildings together with organisations such as the National Heritage Board, the National Fortifications Administration and the Swedish Maritime Administration. * SFV has approximately 500 employees across the whole of Sweden. * SFV was formed in 1993 from the National Board of Public Buildings in Sweden.
