Our Company: AbioBot, Inc. is an Ohio start-up co-founded in 2015 by Raghu Machiraju along with Ken Rinaldo, Kun Huang, Trademark Gunderson and Chaitanya Kulkarni-all from The Ohio State University. Following the successful completion of the San Francisco-based tech accelerator program, IndieBio, we adapted our AI-powered technology to various hardware platforms. AbioBot filed a US provisional patent in 2017 and a full US utility patent in 2018 with the assistance of the law firm, DLA Piper. As of August 2018, AbioBot became an engaged client of Rev1 Ventures, an entrepreneur service provider in Columbus, Ohio. Our Team: Raghu Machiraju, CEO, led the formation and initial funding of AbioBot. He is a tenured professor at The Ohio State University with 30+ years in Computer Science, Biomedical Informatics, and Pathology and the inaugural Executive Director of the Translational Data Analytics Institute. Raghu has led many projects in the applied AI space and is highly knowledgeable in both computer science and biotechnology and has regularly engaged with investors. Jany Chan, CSO, has 12+ years of research experience in academic and government laboratories with degrees in Molecular Genetics, Plant Biology, and Microbiology in addition to Computer Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence. Jany is a member of ADVANCE's REACH for Commercialization for women and manages the development of AbioBot's AI technology and its integration into customer workflows. Heath Bowers, President of Sales and Marketing, has 19+ years of industry experience in the life sciences, including developing ABITEC's North America lipid excipient business and leading the research and development team at VWR, LLC at Solon, Ohio. Based on his own entrepreneurial experience through QURA Scientific, Heath is focused on securing new commercial opportunities for AbioBot.
