HelpAge India is secular, not-for-profit organization registered under the Societies' Registration Act of 1860. We were set up in 1978, and since then have been raising resources to protect the rights of India's elderly and provide relief to them through various interventions. We voice the needs of India's 100 million+ "grey" population, and directly impact the lives of many elders through our services each year. We advocate with national & local government to bring about policy that is beneficial to the elderly. We make society aware of the concerns of the aged and promote better understanding of ageing issues. We help the elderly become aware of their own rights so that they get their due and are able to play an active role in society.

CARE has been working in India for over 70 years, focusing on ending poverty and social injustice . We do this through well-planned and comprehensive programmes in health, education, livelihoods and disaster preparedness and response. Our overall goal is the empowerment of women and girls from poor and marginalised communities leading to improvement in their lives and livelihoods. We are a member of the CARE International Confederation working in 100 countries for a world where all people live in dignity and security. Why Women & Girls We choose to focus on women and girls because women are disproportionately affected by poverty and discrimination; we aim to ensure gender equality through the realisation of full rights and entitlements. Further, our experience shows us that, when equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities overcome poverty.

The Akanksha Foundation is a non-profit organisation with a mission to provide children from low-income communities with a high-quality education, enabling them to maximize their potential and transform their lives. Akanksha primarily addresses formal education through 26 Akanksha Schools in Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur. Over the past 30 years, the organisation has expanded from 15 children in one centre to more than 13,000 children in 26 schools. A commitment is made to support each child by giving him or her a strong educational foundation, values and help them plan how they can earn a steady livelihood as a step towards improving their standard of living.
