AARDEX Ltd is the independent successor to the former European division of APREX, the U.S. firm that pioneered electronic monitoring in the 1980s. AARDEX Ltd was founded in 1995, when the assets of the division were acquired by key staff who had worked together since 1988. AARDEX Ltd thus has a decade of experience in providing pharmaceutical firms and research institutions with the devices, software, and expertise for measuring, analyzing, and interpreting patients, dosing histories and their clinical and economic consequences. AARDEX Ltd staff have analyzed over 70% of all studies ever done using electronic monitoring of patient compliance. The result is the unique AARDEX Ltd Archive of nearly 6 million patient-days of electronically monitored dosing in virtually every field of ambulatory care. In July 1999, AARDEX Ltd acquired APREX. This step reunites two firms that, prior to 1995, were geographic divisions of the firm that pioneered electronic monitoring of patient compliance with prescribed drug regimens. AARDEX Ltd is now the world leader in electronic devices and software for monitoring prescription drug intake by ambulatory patients. AARDEX Ltd products increase the information gained from drug trials and facilitate cost-effective care in the frequent situation where prescribed drugs fail to work as intended.
