A generation ago, a household's wealth was a paycheck and a house, and both were visible to the bank that underwrote the loan. That has changed. Today the same household holds most of its net worth somewhere its bank was never built to see: publicly traded securities first, then equity compensation, fund interests, digital assets, tokenized and pre-IPO holdings. Investors under forty-three now hold about a third of their portfolios in alternative assets, roughly five times their parents' share. The asset side of the household balance sheet has shifted faster than the lending stack built to underwrite it. So people take their borrowing to the private banks and brokerages that can value what they own, and their community institution watches the loan, and the next generation, walk out the door. Aaim exists to change that. Aaim is collateral-control and loan-participation infrastructure for credit unions, community banks, and regional banks. It surfaces the assets a core banking system can't, values them against one taxonomy calibrated to Federal Reserve Reg T/U and to OCC and FDIC guidance, monitors them for the life of the loan, and helps the institution perfect a real interest across UCC Article 9 and Article 12. The asset stays where the member already holds it; the loan comes home to the institution where they already bank. The institution makes every lending decision and sets every term. Aaim does not originate loans or approve credit. Through loan syndication and participation, institutions can also share what they originate, distributing risk and reaching liquidity so a loan too large for one balance sheet stays inside the community system. The result: a community lender can say yes, safely, to a good borrower a larger competitor would otherwise take. Wealth, and the lending it supports, stay in the places that create them. Aaim. Making modern wealth lendable.
