Aahana Information

Aahana: the first rays of sun, or in other words the beginning of something incredible. Aahana was founded on the simple premise that education is the foundation for success. Indian women and children for years have been belittled, not because they are not able, but because they never had an opportunity. Opportunities, hope, and love is what Aahana hopes to provide to hundreds of young women and children across India. Aahana focuses on the neglected populations in India: young women and those who face mental and physical disabilities. With our partner organization, the Human Research Foundation, we are running Mamta School, a school for 67 deaf and disabled children. We hope to provide these kids opportunities to have a normal life despite their disability or class background. Mission: Aahana provides education, health care, and vocational training to transform the lives of India's women and disabled youth.
