A-STEP, Alternative-South Texas Educator Program, is a State Board of Educator Certification approved alternative route to teacher certification which was founded in 2002 with the aim of improving the teaching and learning experience by "Helping to certify tomorrow's teachers today!". We pride ourselves in delivering the most up-to-date academy sessions as prescribed by TEA, Texas Education Agency, that provide a truly solid foundation for our teacher candidates as they embark in the teaching profession. Our instructors share their expertise and knowledge, making our candidate's professional development experience meaningful. The program is designed to identify, select, train and certify top quality teacher candidates through a series of face-to-face, instructor-led workshops and internships, providing each candidate with the most current teaching techniques in today's classroom.
