A Mother's Boutique is a woman owned and operated business. We are the only independently owned store of our kind in the greater Pittsburgh area! My son was born in July 2005. After a 4-month maternity leave, I went back to work and survived for nearly 1 year working in corporate America before I decided that the long hours in the office and the out-of-town travel associated with my job were too much for me. In October 2006, I quit my corporate job to stay home with my son. After a few months of being at home, I decided that I wanted to help other new mothers to breastfeed. Breastfeeding isn't always as easy as one might expect - and I wanted to help as many new mothers as possible to be successful in their efforts to breastfeed their babies. When I was a new mother, I had a difficult time finding quality nursing bras and products that would enable me to be successful at breastfeeding. I realized that this "unmet need" that I felt was also something that many other mothers also experienced. Coming from a business background, I decided this was something that I could use my corporate skills to develop a solution for. I realized that I would be able to meet my personal goals of spending more time with my son, while achieving professional goals of helping other new mothers succeed with breastfeeding. This led me to start up A Mother's Boutique. A Mother's Boutique is focused on helping new mothers breastfeed by providing the esssential tools that new mothers need in one convenient location. With the best Nursing Bras and breast pumps - A Mother's Boutique carries everything that a new mother needs. I have selected the highest quality and most functional items (as well as many of my own personal favorites!) from several different designers to make sure that mothers shopping here get the best selection available. Based on my experience as a working mother, a stay-at-home mother, a work-at-home mother and now a one-woman-retail-and-internet-store-operation, I have chosen items that will work for different kinds of mothers who are in different personal and professional parts of motherhood. I have chosen stylish functional items for the mother who is pumping at work or meeting her baby at lunch for nursing as well as comfortable casual items for mothers who are on the go. I have also made sure to include stylish, casual and speciality bras for all types of occasions - for dressing up and dressing down. And with the largest range of sizes available anywhere - A Mother's Boutique has something to fit every mom. Filmed in 2010 for World Breastfeeding Week.
