A Good Run Information

Not that long ago a race was just a race. We crossed the finish line, checked our time, received our shirt, then grabbed a bottle of water and an orange. After hydrating we gathered up our belongings and went home. Probably for lunch and a nap. When Destination Races was founded in 2004 with the Napa-to-Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon, our goal was much more ambitious. We allowed runners the opportunity to explore the most scenic areas of wine country on foot and finish in an idyllic town to celebrate their accomplishment. We created a post-race wine festival and introduced them to local wineries, food and entertainment. We hosted hospitality events before and after the race. Runners and wine enthusiasts reveled in the true wine country experience and traveled from afar, brought family, and friends, and made new ones. They raved about the experience. Fast-forward to today and you’ll find the same attention to detail with local flavor, hospitality and support from the surrounding communities. The branding and name may have changed but the welcome mat is still out and you’ll be greeted by many of the same hosts. Now you can also explore poplar beer regions by foot, then sample craft beers and ciders while watching the fastest and most determined beer milers in the world. Whichever your choice of destination we promise a good run and a memorable journey!
