I have an insatiable appetite for exploring and learning, and a passion for passing on that knowledge to the people I work with. I know that my purpose in life is to serve others through my coaching, counselling and teaching. How did I arrive at my purpose? Well, everyone has a story to tell, so please allow me tell you mine. I grew up around family businesses, left school at 15, and was married with a baby at 17. By the time I was 22, I had two more children, was running my interior decorating business from home, and my husband and I were involved in pastoral care activities. When my children had all started school I commenced working for large organisations. As I made my way up the corporate ladder I enjoyed doing product and project management, executive line management, then management consulting. I also studied part-time to gain business qualifications. Throughout those years I battled with fear, self-doubt and lack of confidence, weathered divorce and the death of loved ones, experienced the joy of remarriage, and watched my children grow up, leave home and start their own families. Somewhere along the way I started to resent the long hours I was working, and my enthusiasm for corporate work was waning. What was missing? What was it that gave my life purpose and meaning? To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you like everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight, and never stop fighting. It was the year 2000 a new century and time for me to evaluate my direction. Taking a new perspective, I decided to gain my independence and rebalance my life by resigning from my corporate position and starting my own company, Perspective Solutions. I wanted an avenue where I could follow my dream of working with people to navigate the pathways of life and work, and inspire them toward making choices and taking action.
