KXLU exists to engage in broadcasting under terms of a license granted by the Federal Communications Commission. KXLU is a non-commercial, educational station broadcasting from the Westchester campus of Loyola Marymount University at an assigned carrier of 88.9 megahertz and an assigned radiating power of 3000 watts. Owned by the Board of Trustees of Loyola Marymount University, KXLU is operated in the public interest by its student, faculty, and volunteer staff. KXLU offers a diverse and eclectic range of free form, commercial free radio to the Los Angeles community and to the world via kxlu.com. KXLU broadcasts live 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Join WUSB and the Friends of Coltrane on Saturday July 21 at Hecksher Park in Huntington for Coltrane Day, a celebration of the music of John and Alice Coltrane and a fundraising event to help preserve and rehabilitate the Coltrane Home in Dix Hills. A part of Huntington Summer Arts Festival Week of Jazz Coltrane Day will feature the Joe Lavano Quartet, Michelle Coltrane, Dave Diamond and others. In additon there are music workshops, family activities including arts and crafts and more. Coltrane Day culminates a full week of Jazz at the Summer Arts Festival featuring Dan Gonzalez, the Grace Kelly Quartet, The Lao Tizer Band and the Joe Lavano Classic Quartet on Sat night.
