Located in historic Grade II-listed railway arches near Great Bridgewater Street and Deansgate, 53two is one of the city’s most versatile creative hubs, blending a fully accessible theatre space, café/bar and community venue all under one roof. The venue’s flexible theatre space can seat up to 150 people and be adapted for all kinds of events — from plays, comedy, music and film screenings to corporate gatherings, workshops, rehearsals, parties and weddings. Its blank-canvas layout, lighting rig, PA system and projector make it ideal for both spirited nightlife events and intimate performances. 53two’s ethos centres on accessibility, inclusivity and support for artists of all backgrounds. As a registered charity, it champions affordable, high-quality creative experiences, offering BSL interpretation, relaxed performances, affordable ticketing (including unwaged options), and facilities such as wheelchair access and a Changing Places toilet to ensure the space is truly welcoming to everyone. Profits are reinvested into community programmes, artist development and outreach work across Greater Manchester.
