Strategy We empower indigenous workers to bring transformation to the world’s neediest people. We give our money. They give their lives. God has given us the gift of life in all its fullness. Now we’re passing it on. Impact & Opportunity Amazingly, the cost of sending a full-time worker is only £60 per month. The impact our giving makes is astonishing. How we operate We find inspirational local leaders to work with. We equip them with tools to leverage their impact. And then we provide the financial resources to send, support and supervise the workers they’ve trained. We keep it simple. This means that over 95% of the funds we raise makes it to our partners on the ground. What We Do: Backing Local Leaders Getting behind inspirational local leaders is the heart of how we operate. These people have frequently risked their lives and always sacrificed much in reaching out to some of the world’s neediest people. Our indigenous workers are organised and cared for by these local leaders. We combine the passion and charisma of these leaders with our expertise in developing careful systems of monitoring, governance and training. The raw potential of each of our workers is stunning. 500k helps them reach that potential. Making Giving Relational Relationship is one of our central values. As well as a tight-knit giving community, 500k does everything it can to connect each giver with the workers they are supporting. We want givers and partners to see themselves as partners in their work. To achieve this, we do our best to provide each giver with the life-story, vision and photo of the worker(s) their giving is being directed towards. Regular progress updates are shared. Our Callings as Givers We believe being a giver is as much a part of our calling and vocation as are our day jobs. We may not be on the frontline ourselves - but our role of humbly supporting those heroes who are, is just as crucial. This is something we should be proud of.
