3WAVES is a wearable vestibular motion system built to increase training realism in simulation. It connects to any simulator, image generator, or XR headset and converts live flight telemetry into synchronized motion cues, so trainees physically sense the maneuvers they see. Realism extends to spatial disorientation scenarios conventional sims can't reproduce. Sessions run longer since aligning vestibular input with visual motion cuts the sensory conflict behind simulator sickness. Integration is drop-in: no motion platform, no changes to existing infrastructure. The technology is built on fifteen years of Mayo Clinic vestibular research, was developed under NASA, DARPA, and AFWERX programs, and is fielded at U.S. military flight-training sites. 3WAVES is a spin-out of Luna Labs, headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia.
