The Austin Health – University of Melbourne 3d Medical Printing Laboratory is dedicated to the development and dissemination of 3d visualisation, modelling and printing technologies to enhance patient care. Our goal is to explore the clinical applications of new technology such as • 3D software segmentation and modelling • virtual reality • social media and network platforms • complex data visualisation • 3D printing • additive, subtractive and combination manufacturing techniques Target areas for improving patient care include: • medical and healthcare professional education • patient education • procedural training and simulation • surgical preparation and planning • surgical tool and guide development • medical device, implant and prosthesis development • understanding social and legal impacts of new technology We welcome partnerships with interested researchers, clinicians and industry to progress our goals.
