The increasing popularity of free apps for smartphones is supported by the presence of advertisement impressions, which can bare the development and maintenance cost. However, apps are frequently subject to cybercrime and attacks, aiming at distributing altered apps. most of the cases, attackers remove original ads and, possibly, replace them with their own ads, to gain profits from tampered apps. There is an urgent need for software development tools able to automatically protect apps from tampering attacks, and defend business critical assets from cybercrime. 2ASPIRE wants to exploit the large experience of its team in Software Engineering and Security, to develop and commercialize a tool intended to answer developer'​ needs with a tool that blocks attacks to ads in smartphone apps. The tool implements an idea elaborated by 2ASPIRE founders, while working on a research project in Fondazione Bruno Kessler. Competitors offer services that can be used to protect ads in apps, however they are not answering to the actual needs of app developers. In fact, products are hard to learn and use, so they are not compatible with time- to-market push in the mobile app ecosystem, or they adopt business models that come from the traditional (desktop) software market, not very suitable for apps.
