1Energy Systems Information

1Energy Systems delivers control system software and power system engineering services to help distribution utilities integrate distributed energy resources, such as solar and wind power, into the grid. Our control software for energy storage systems (ESSs) runs patent-pending algorithms that help utilities maintain power quality on circuits impacted by solar and other renewables, while taking full advantage of energy storage and other distributed energy resources. The 1Energy platform, based on Modular Energy Storage Architecture (MESA) technology standards, creates scalable, modular energy storage systems from industry-standard batteries, power conversion systems and software. The MESA technology standards enable a robust energy storage market. With standard components, multiple suppliers and lower risk, customers can upgrade, expand or re-use system components as needs change or new technologies emerge. Suppliers can focus on their core competencies to reach a broader market at lower cost. We partner with electric utility customers and technology suppliers. Our technology partners deliver MESA-compliant hardware: battery energy storage units (ESU), power conversion systems (PCS), and other components. We deliver MESA-compliant software. 1Energy Systems (1Energy) was founded in 2010 on the belief that intelligent software control of energy storage would accelerate the adoption of renewable energy, reducing the grid’s carbon footprint.
