VELOMOUNTS Information

Velomounts was founded to help cyclists use their personal devices (smartphones/watches) to stay connected and monitor data while riding a bike or similar "vehicles"​. Our goal for Velomounts is to provide a convenient and safe mounting solution that allows riders to easily access existing technology designed to enhance their experience and promote personal fitness while cycling. With apps and technology like GPS and Bluetooth now built into standard devices, cyclists no longer need to purchase or maintain a separate cycling device to capture workout data like heart rate, distance, speed or power. Velomounts plans to create a full spectrum of products that will enhance the use of devices while on the bike. Our initial product is a rugged and protective bike mount designed specifically for the Apple Watch. Apple Watch has proven to be a great companion for cyclists: the Series 1 collects heart rate data while off the wrist, using a Bluetooth HRM like Wahoo Fitness TICKR; the Series 2 has built-in GPS and a brighter screen so it works easily with apps like Strava without needing the phone nearby; the Series 3 will allow a complete interactive experience away from your phone -- allow you to take calls and ready emails and messages. Accuracy for the Watch is comparable to more expensive devices for health and fitness but the biggest drawback has wearing the Watch while riding. That’s where Velomounts comes in .... making it easy to access the screen and crown WHILE you ride and safely securing the Watch to the bike allows for convenient real time access to available data, apps and notifications that enhance your time and promote fitness while protecting the Watch.
