Tiny Modernist Information

Tiny Modernist Cross Stitch charts are created by Canadian designer Cheryl McKinnon. She was an artist and a fashion designer before finding her true passion designing cross stitch patterns. Her designs often use retro themes, bright colour palettes and bold graphic elements, and are influenced by her love of retro design, vintage kitchen appliances, Alexander Girard, Charley Harper, 60s fashion, and drawings of animals dressed up like people. Her mum and grandmother stitched traditional needlepoint, petit point, and cross stitch, and it was their work that influenced her to first take up Cross Stitch as a hobby. Her designs keep the tradition alive, and modernize it through patterns that have simple, clean lines, graphic colours, with retro modern or pop culture influences.
