Throwdowns.com was started by a team of CrossFit'ers (a computer Technologist and a Corporate Banker) who have come together for one purpose: to help elite athletes and gym owners host great events so as to bring out the best in their respective Athlete communities and either raise money for a great cause or increase their business revenue and build the brand of their Affiliate. The long road to creating Throwdowns.com all started when we ran our own event and we quickly realized there had to be have been a better way. There were few, if any, good solutions in one platform to help an Affiliate owner/event coordinator: i) create an event presence online, ii) register Athletes, iii) process payments, iv) handle communication with registered Athletes, v) create score sheets, vi) score the event, vii) produce and display production-quality leaderboards accessible via any device with internet connectivity, and viii) host an archived version of the competition for the world to see. This is when we decided to create Throwdowns.com and its exclusive offering, the Throwdowns Cloup Platform ("TCP"), a single platform to handle Registration, Scoring, and Leaderboard delivery for a fitness event so as to ensure the quality of the event and avoid the risk of creating a bad perception with competitors and attendees.
