TAPS has grown steadily into the leading training scheme for new television writers. With strong links to all the major broadcasters and constant support from Skillset, TAPS offers professionally taught courses at accessible rates. An entirely not-for-profit organisation, every penny we receive is spent ensuring our development programmes are unbeatable for content, quality and value. The only national writers’ scheme, TAPS is dedicated to finding new writers and runs workshops across the UK. This has allowed us to forge tight bonds with regional broadcasters while reaching as many writers as possible. To ensure our courses are always on the cutting edge, we review them annually with the input of our Artistic Advisory Board. A collection of forward-thinking producers, writers, directors and commissioners from all the leading broadcasters, the Board ensures TAPS’ work is always based on actual industry needs.
