Stride Foundation Information

For more than 20 years Stride Foundation, a not-for-profit, organisation, has been dedicated to creating and presenting programs and resources which foster the physical, mental and social well being of young people and their communities. We work with students and teachers in primary and secondary schools, and young people in communities across Australia, that may be disadvantaged through poverty, suffering, distress and helplessness. Recognising that Young people face many issues in Australia today, Stride's early intervention educational programs are designed to provide skills and techniques to empower young people to manage and foster positive outcomes to lifes challenges. In schools there are concerns with bullying, conflict, stress, depression, suicide and low self-esteem. In the community they face problems with drugs, education, unemployment and peer pressure. Stride is a Quality Improvement Council accredited organisation. This brings independent confirmation of the high quality of Stride's governance and management systems and practice. By having in place good systems and practices, Stride can deliver better programs and services more efficiently and has the capacity to grow sustainably and effectively. With its strong emphasis on continuous quality improvement, quality accreditation supports an ongoing focus on 'continually doing things better'. Stride is accredited by QIC licensee Quality Improvement and Community Services Accreditation (QICSA). Our vision is that all children should have the opportunity for a brighter future.
