SHRR Consulting, Inc. was founded in 2007 by Marie Socha, MS, MSPH, DrPH. Dr. Socha has been trained as an epidemiologist, environmental health scientist, and emergency response/emergency preparedness specialist. Dr. Socha previously worked as a full-time employee at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Her experience gained at CDC included working as the Lead Emergency Response Coordinator at the CDC Director's Emergency Operations Center (DEOC) as well as the Principal Investigator for the environmental epidemiology survey associated with Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Dr. Socha is well-versed in federal requirements associated with emergency preparedness, emergency response and Continuity of Operations/Continuity of Government. She has experience working with law enforcement agencies and participated as a member of the CDC/ATSDR Emergency Response Team which collaborated with FBI on the anthrax sampling at the American Media, Inc. building in Boca Raton, FL. Since October of 2005, Dr. Socha has been working as a public health and preparedness consultant for government and contracting companies. Projects have included creating an Integrated Response Architecture for the Department of Homeland Security's Science & Technology Directorate, evaluating border health through work done with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) providing compliance guidance to airport authorities on the new EPA airline water quality rule, supplying medical information on chemical, biological and radiological contaminants of concern for water security for the EPA Water Contaminant Information Tool (WCIT), as well as teaming with the CDC Office of Health and Safety to write their Pandemic Workforce Protection Plan.
