Opus Petroleum Engineering Ltd. has been consulting on water analysis interpretation since 1986 when we published the catalog, "Formation Waters of Alberta". In 1992 that catalog was expanded and improved to become, "Formation Waters of Western Canada". We have been teaching the course, "Practical Water Analysis Interpretation" since 1992 mostly in Calgary, Alberta but also in Victoria, Regina, St. John's, and Aberdeen. The course is offered as a 1.5 day workshop to individuals or in-house - as well as online at your own speed to individuals. Recently, we have also started teaching QGIS mapping both online and to groups. If you are wondering whether that water you are producing might be due to a completion problem, we can help. Each zone usually has a distinctive fingerprint. We can also tell whether you are recovering formation water mixed with mud filtrate, spent acid or frac fluid. Consulting fees are reasonable.
