Arising from the Government of Dubai’s belief in the importance of developing a knowledge society, the emirate has allocated limitless time and effort investing in Education. In light of this interest, the Knowledge Fund was established in 2007 by order of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai to act as a cornerstone that will enable the accomplishment of Dubai’s strategic vision through striving towards sustainable development in the emirate. The “Knowledge Fund” seeks to effectively participate in developing Dubai’s knowledge capital, through profitably managing funds. In order to achieve this, the Knowledge Fund identifies, and uses state of the art investment strategies to support its initiatives in the different sectors of society. Through the "Knowledge Fund", the Government of Dubai emphasizes the importance of investing in education, thus promoting the construction of a Knowledge Economy in Dubai. The “Knowledge Fund” as a government entity, aspires to provide an ideal work environment promoting innovation and creativity, making it one of the most promising institutions that are working to build a better future in Dubai.
