Kicking Dynamics Information

Kicking Dynamics was founded in 2013, by head coach Tim Schmidt, a former professional AFL footballer who played for the Sydney Swans from 2003-2009, winning the ‘Rising Star Player of the Year’ in 2007. He was also the inaugural head coach of the GWS Giants AFLW women's team in 2017. During his playing years, Tim built up a reputation for his kicking efficiency, elite skills and football ‘smarts’, earning the nickname ‘The Brain’ from premiership Sydney Swans coach, Paul Roos. Tim decided to retire after suffering a succession of injuries but wanted to help other players gain confidence, and to pass on his knowledge so that they could also live their dreams of becoming professional AFL players or fulfil their own potential. Tim has always had a passion for development & coaching and has worked in various professional coaching roles within the AFL. He believes that kicking is one of the most important aspects of the game, but one that players find hardest to get right.
