The Problem: Diabetes damages the eye at the genomic level. Chronic hyperglycemia causes pathological PARylation — a 'molecular clog' that disables CTCF, the architectural regulator of the genome, locking critical repair genes (p53, Pax6, BRCA1/2, XPC) in an inactive state. The result: non-healing corneal ulcers, progressive keratopathy, vision loss, and diabetic retinopathy. No approved therapy addresses this root cause. The Solution — INV-102: INV-102 (DiLithium ADP-ribose) is a first-in-class small molecule that competitively displaces pathological PAR chains, restoring CTCF-TAD loop architecture, the cell's 'Repair Chamber.' This triggers coordinated upregulation of p53, Sirt6, and Pax6; transforming chronically damaged tissue into a rapidly healing one. Unlike anti-inflammatory or tear-supplement approaches, INV-102 addresses the underlying genomic dysfunction driving multiple diseases. Clinical Evidence: INV-102 has demonstrated statistically significant improvement in Best Corrected Visual Acuity (BCVA) vs. vehicle in diabetic subjects (p<0.01) in a randomized Phase 2 study. Results exclusively driven by the diabetic subpopulation, confirming mechanism specificity. Phase 2 data also show benefits in acute infectious keratoconjunctivitis (AIK), with a notable effect suggesting innate immune modulation. A Phase 2a pilot in diabetic macular edema / NPDR has been completed (NCT06599684).
