Hackerbilt creates productivity tools that make work fun. The benefit of making work fun is that it also become more productive, and that can have a very positive impact on the overall function of a business. So, while fun is our actual motivation, we are also very comfortable with the secondary benefits: productivity and profitability. Our current product focus is The Scrumball. The Scrumball is a mobile app ("Light" and "Pro") that also comes with a companion rugby ball enclosure to propel Daily Stand-ups. A stand-up is a specific type of meeting format and structure—a daily status meeting—used by 75% of software development companies. While stand-ups can be very productive, it can be difficult to maintain the proper format and right participation, which lessens the stand-up's usefulness. The Scrumball app and ball solves that very problem: stand-ups are kept on track and on time, and are measurably more productive. The benefit: a more efficiently and effectively managed project. Our first product, Tomatoes & Flowers is a 360° management feedback device that enables staff to share honest critical feedback by “throwing” tomatoes (weaknesses) and flowers (strengths) at their boss anonymously. Our next product, The Name Games, is a mobile app that increases personal power. The Name Game gamifies human learning to eliminate the problem of not being able to remember people's names. The Name Games won the HTC prize at AngelHack NY Summer 2012.
