E-Bots Robotics Information

E-Bots is committed to bringing you a quality program. We schedule our classes with you and your holidays in mind plus accomodating our competitive teams, who if not now, might in the future be your children! We are about the students and what is in the best interests for them! Our programs operate throughout the year. We offer Fall, Winter, & Spring after school sessions during the school year. A season is typically for 10 weeks, depending on holiday schedules and our competitive team schedules. In the summer we offer summer day camp programs on a weekly basis. Our mission is to support children who are interested in maths and sciences and encourage them to develop a lifelong hobby that enables them to experiment, problem solve, work in social groups, and have fun. We have two age groups for instruction: WeeBots: This program is for children who are aged 6-8 who are in grade 2 and 3. It is a 4 level program to introduce them to the concepts of simple machines and understand the science behind them. They use LEGO models throughout and have the fun of instruction and then being tasked with challenges to learn how simple machines can impact each other. WeeBots programs run typically 2 hours a week for 5 weeks. E-Bots: This program is for students who are in grade 4-10. Before they can "make a robot", they must understand how to make that robot move. Certain math skills and science concepts need to be in place before beginning the programming the chldren are using. The Ontario curriculuum seems to cover these concepts by the end of grade 3, which is why we start children after grade 3. So the first step is to understand the basics of LEGO robotics programming. This will allow them to independently think and accept any challenge they are eventually given. This is why students must work through at least 2 levels of basic programming, Level 1and 2.
