Oracle has acquired Convergin, a catalyst in developing J2EE-based Service Broker and network integration software for the communications industry. Adding Convergin products to Oracle Communications portfolio is expected to enable customers with next-generation solutions to address network migration to an all IP core, significantly reducing integration and hardware costs. This combination is expected to accelerate deployment of next-generation pre-paid and value-added services in the communications industry. By utilizing Convergin's Accolade WCS, service providers accelerate their evolution towards SDPs while enabling seamless orchestration of mobile, legacy and next generation core network elements. Since 2001, Convergin has deployed its solutions in wireless and wireline service providers worldwide, enabling a wide range of protocols in the core of the network and allowing service providers to expand their capabilities to new domains. Using Convergin’s technology in the core of their networks, its GSM, CDMA, MVNO, and Wireline customers have successfully evolved their networks in a cost effective way, and were amongst the first to offer some of the most advanced services into their networks.
