BingeBehavior.com is a website and advocacy organization designed to support people with impulse control disorders such as Trichotillomania (hair pulling), dermatillomania (skin picking), compulsive shopping and binge eating disorder (BED) and weight stigma. The purpose of BingeBehavior.com is to alleviate that stigma and shame through information, resource identification and community forums. All too often, beyond the discrimination, it is the stigma of mental health that keeps people from living the lives they aspire to. The work of BingeBehavior.com is to aggregate and provide information for those battling impulse control disorders and to help them identify the resources that will enable them to thrive. Mental health challenges are by their nature isolating but with persistence, we can challenge the idea that seeking help or accepting ones' diverse capabilities is correlated with shame in any way.
