Badlon is an independent French-based publication that brings together photography, fashion, and art in an open-minded fusion of distinct stories with their own meaning. Founded by Ksenia Chilingarova (Editor-in-Chief), Victoria Gogh (Fashion Director), and Stas Kalshnikov (Creative Director) in 2020, the magazine exists as an annually published collectible print book, complemented by an online publication and a social platform that extend the conversation between issues : few formats, precise intent. Our image-making is method-led and moves between documentary and conceptual, color and black-and-white, outdoors and studio. Collage, handwritten traces, and the friction between text and image compose a narrative that is unsettling yet coherent, always at the core: art in the making. We seek new voices from the barely emerging to the already established, and follow them as the work takes shape. Badlon gives room, time, and editorial care : not only visibility, but continuity. A place where first gestures mature into lasting voices, where rigor meets risk, and where a practice becomes a point of view. We don’t use art as a backdrop; we use it as a driving force. Each volume favors clarity of intent and editorial integrity : the work speaks for itself, and the process appears without spectacle, legible, not didactic. We also practice transparent rarity : limited editions and selective distribution through trusted stockists, while we favor quiet public rituals that keep the object alive. Badlon is a magazine, unequivocally, yet the rigor of its making allows it to act as an atelier in print.
