Allingtons Outpost Information

In 1978, Eric and Doreen Allington saw great potential in the Golden Grove Supplies Store, which at the time incorporated the Post Office, Fodder Store, Deli and Petrol Station. The original business operated as a chaff-cutting operation, supplying grain, hay and pellet feed to places as far away as Broken Hill and Alice Springs. Golden Grove Supplies became Allingtons Supplies and sons David and Len left school to work in the family business. In 1981 Graham Allington the current Managing Director, joined the business having just graduated from university. In 1988 the business was divided into three separate enterprises; Golden Grove Fodder, owned by David, Allingtons Hardware, owned by Len and Golden Grove Saddlery, owned by Graham. Over the years Golden Grove Saddlery evolved into a retail country clothing operation with less empahsis on saddlery. The business was renamed Allingtons Country Clothing and Saddlery. In 1996 Allingtons attended the first of many Field Days. Five times a year Allingtons become a mobile store travelling to Lucindale, Paskeville/Cleve, AGFEST in Tasmania, Royal Adelaide Show and Deni Ute Muster in NSW. Allingtons have come a long way since those relatively humble beginnings. In October 2001 the business was renamed Allingtons Outpost to reflect the greater variety of country clothing, work and western wear. The name change coincided with the move from the smaller Golden Grove store to the larger more prominant premises on Main North Road at Parafield, growing and developing to what it is today. In 2011 our new Loyalty Reward programme was introduced giving our loyal customers monthly draws, gifts, VIP nights and fuss-free exchanges and returns. In 2013 Allingtons Outpost celebrated 35 years of being in business and has grown into one of the largest companies of its type in Australia. We attribute this to our philosophy of offering the best brands, most extensive range and best service to our valued customers so they have a unique and pleasurable shopping experience. At Allingtons, we cater for the whole family with a fantastic range of Country Clothing, Western & Work Wear, Boots, Hats, Jeans, Oilskins, Swags and Saddlery. In 2013 we went head first into the word of social media launching our Facebook page and Twitter account which keeps our customers updated daily. The launch of our online store in 2014 has opened the company to a national and global market.
