Founded in 1937 in Amsterdam under the name “Roba Metallurgische Handelsmaatschappij” by Robert Baruch and Willy Cohn, Roba originally limited its activities to trading and processing metal waste. In 1948, Roba began trading in semi-finished steel products. When the company outgrew its premises in Amsterdam in the 1960s, it was relocated to a site in IJsselstein. Nowadays, Roba Metals is fully part of the Roba Group. Recycling It all started in 1937 when Roba began recycling non-ferrous metals. Ever since, the Recycling department has broadened its expertise more and more in the areas of aluminium, copper, zinc and nickel processing. As a rule, Roba carries out both storage and treatment in-house. Additionally, the quality standard for the metal waste is determined in Roba’s own modern laboratory. Steel For decades, Roba has been a leading supplier of flat steel products. Our strength lies in our extensive knowledge and experience, which is a major asset in processing a variety of steel qualities in our service center. As well as processing steel parent coils into slit widths and sheets, we can also supply mill ordered material to our customers. Stainless steel & aluminium Roba is a leading supplier of large quantities of stainless steel and aluminium, mainly in sheet and strip. Roba is focussing on the higher end of the market. Our service center in IJsselstein helps to realise this ambition. In this metal processing facility, we make use of a cut-to-length line to produce sheet and slitted strip, as well as two grinding and polishing machines to achieve a wide range of surface finishes. Non-ferrous metals Semi-finished copper, zinc and lead products are essential for various industries, particularly for the construction sector. Thanks to an effective logistic system, a complete range of products, and competitive prices, Roba is the partner of choice for buyers and suppliers alike.
