Velte Publishing consists of a small group of very dedicated people who love writing about AI, network, and security technology. We’re located in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis and St. Paul Metro, Minnesota, USA). We started our book-writing adventure back in 1998 when Windows NT was the hot new operating system. It wasn’t long before we were writing about Windows 2000. About the same time, it was clear that Cisco was starting to dominate the networking arena, and so was born our Cisco Beginners Guide. Over the years the Cisco Beginners Guide has been through three additional refreshes and is now currently in the fifth edition. Along the way, there were books on Optical Networking, Windows XP and Vista, eCommerce, Smart Home Technology, and a Wireless Networking Guide we did for Cisco Press. A few years ago we started going down the path of identifying and writing about ways we could use information systems technology in a more strategic manner, while still sticking to our roots of demystifying the technical complexities. The book, “Green IT”, was the first fruit of that labor of love. We talked to pundits, interviewed technology leaders, and consorted with University Professors - it was an entertaining and educational experience that opened our eyes to a new way of writing. We embraced the same process when writing the Cloud Computing book. We spoke and corresponded with technology leaders across the Cloud Computing landscape. We shared ideas and vision with Fortune 500 leaders, and received amazing feedback and valuable insight into the direction business is headed with Cloud Computing. We’re very proud of the results. Our books are distributed and published nationally and internationally by McGraw-Hill in more than a dozen languages.
