Supporting Wall Information

Supporting Wall was an independent theatre production and management company founded in 2008 by producers Ben Monks and Will Young. Supporting Wall's productions won Olivier, Fringe First, OffWestEnd and Stage Awards; and the company was twice been nominated for the OffWestEnd Best Producer Award. In 2016, Ben left the company to become Executive Director at Improbable. In 2017, Will left to join Arts Council England. This website exists as a record of their work together. Feel free to get in touch, but sadly we are not currently in a position to take on any new projects with the company. Supporting Wall worked with established writers like Philip Ridley, Timberlake Wertenbaker and Mike Bartlett alongside emerging talents including Clare Lizzimore, Chris Lee, Stewart Pringle, Kenneth Emson, Kristiana Rae Colon and Jonathan Donahoe. Typically reflecting contemporary social and political themes, our shows have performed and/or been co-produced at the Young Vic, Soho Theatre, Royal Exchange Manchester, Plymouth Drum, Salisbury Playhouse and Northern Stage among others. Supporting Wall provided general management, PR, marketing and tour booking to artists, producers and Festivals in the UK across theatre, comedy, film and dance. Our recent projects include producing the Women Centre Stage Festival (National Theatre); the Birds Eye View Film Festivals (BFI Southbank, Barbican & Curzon Cinemas); the European tour of Frauke Requardt's Episode for The Place; UK and international dates for Belarus Free Theatre; PR and marketing for the CASA Latin American Theatre Festivals; and more than two dozen productions in London, on tour, and at the Edinburgh Festival.
