Norwegian Wood is a music festival at Frognerbadet in Oslo. The name comes from the Beatles song "Norwegian Wood". The Norwegian Wood rock festival is an annual event taking place in the middle of June in Oslo and during the four days, up to 9000 people visit the festival every day. The festival was founded in 1992 by Jørgen Roll, Sten Fredriksen, and Haakon Hartvedt, whereas the former is still the festival's manager. The first two years the festival took place at Bærums Verk in Bærum, but then moved to Frognerbadet. Gramo Underwood has since the start in 1992 been known for bringing unknown bands from the underwoods to the stage. The bands playing at Gramo Underwood are performing on the Gramo Underwood-stage. Youngwood was founded in 2007 and is an event for junior high school and high school students in cooperation with Den Kulturelle Skolesekken.
