New Ross Consolidated School is a modern district school that is situated in the village of New Ross on Route 12 which leads from Chester to Kentville. The school site was carefully chosen and has beautiful grounds. It is easily accessible from all parts of New Ross. The school can accomodate up to 450 students. The building has an open gym and cafeteria area. The school originally went up to grade 12 but is now P-9. Elementary students attend school on one floor and Junior High students on the other floor. Enrollment at the school has been approximately 225 students for the past few years. The school building is constructed of thermocrete blocks faced on the outside with top grade facing brick. All classrooms are now wired for the Internet. There are thirteen academic classrooms in the main section of the building, science laboratory facilities, and a library. We are pleased to have our school used in the evening by groups. There are lessons, sports activities for adults and children and many other exciting opportunities taking place for our community in the evenings at NRCS. New Ross is comprised of the following - Aaldersville, Harriston, Seffernsville, Mill Road, New Russell, Leville. Forties, Fraxville, Lake Ramsay and Charing Cross.
