Securing top talent with direct industry experience is unlikely unless a professional search consultant is retained to catch up with the qualified candidate, listen to and draw out their career interests, and recruit them on behalf of the client. Some search firms “specialize” in an industry, which limits their recruiting ability and can be harmful for clients, especially in smaller specialized industries.
