Oregon City Police Department is one of the oldest police departments in Oregon. The department has 34 sworn police officers and 7 non-sworn positions. Each patrol shift consists of a minimun of 4 police officers on patrol with enforcement of traffic violations and criminal offenses. The detective division investigates major crimes that are referred to them by patrol. The department has one detective assigned to the inter-agency drug team in Clackamas County. The department is run by one chief and two lieutenants.
